Boiler Water System

Chemco is proposing a comprehensive boiler water treatment program based on specific problems known to the boiler system running on high purity feedwater.

Oxygen Corrosion

Even with the presence of a high-efficiency deaeration system dissolved oxygen sometimes does slip through and enter boiler drums. Mechanical deaeration also at times does face operational problems leading to excessive leakage of dissolved oxygen into the boiler system.

Oxygen corrosion will take place even with an oxygen level of as low as 10 ppb and the results of the corrosion will be significant pitting at the waterline and to a certain extent pitting on tube surfaces.

The use of hydrazine as a chemical oxygen scavenger has been known to provide an excellent result at a very good cost factor but the classification of the product as a suspect carcinogen has made it replaced in many established organizations. Chemco is proposing Catalyzed Sodium Sulfite based oxygen scavenger. It is a volatile metal passivator and more reactive than any other product, even at lower temperatures.

Caustic Corrosion

For internal treatment to prevent the phenomena of caustic corrosion trisodium phosphate will be blended with disodium phosphate.  This is to achieve a congruent point. Potential deposition of corrosion products will be eliminated by the presence of condensate polisher

Condensate Corrosion

Condensate corrosion is a  result of the formation of carbonic acid as leak carbon dioxide that flashes off together with condensing with steam. It has been identified as one of the most common forms of corrosion in any steam generation system.

Based on the steam distribution structure  Chemco is proposing a  blend of morpholine and cyclohexylamine for complete neutralization of the return condensate to prove comprehensive protection on the system piping and equipment.
